Sacrament of Mercy Branch
Mission and Purpose
The purpose is to foster a “rediscovery” of the sacrament of Reconciliation in response to the continuing call from Pope Benedict XVI. This effort focuses on helping the faithful to arrive at a “Personal Encounter with Jesus Christ in the sacrament of His Mercy”.
To following are developed and implemented to achieve this purpose:
- Various printed resources:Co-sponsor of the ongoing Season of Mercy Initiative for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee from 2010 through 2013.
- Personal Encounter with Jesus Christ brochure published by the Rosary Evangelization Apostolate with Ecclesiastical Approval.
- Encounter with Mercy booklet published with an Imprimatur in collaboration with Circle Press and distributed through Catholic Word. Includes a Foreword by Justin Cardinal Rigali.
The Sacrament of Mercy branch was formed as part of the Rosary Evangelization Apostolate on Feb. 1, 2009 with the approval of Archbishop Timothy M. Dolan of Milwaukee, who was the Apostolate’s Episcopal Advisor at the time
